ERMINIA MANZANARES, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Ermie was preceded in death by her husband, Juan in 1997; daughter, Nancy Anaya in August 2016; grandson, Joseph Anaya in 2013. Erminia was born in 1929 in El Rito, NM and was married to Juan Manzanares from El Rito in 1950. Together they had seven children. Ermie was a homemaker for the family while Juan worked diligently to support the family. Ermie was very proud of her family. She loved to cook and enjoy a good meal with family and friends. She loved going to Bingo and socializing there. She also loved to dance. She had a strong faith in God and passed that blessing onto her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her six children, Sylvia, Pauline and husband Joey, Loretta, Martha and husband Kevin, John, Linda and Life partner Lynn, and all her beautiful grandchildren; brothers, Joe Herrera and wife May, and Rudy Herrera. Public visitation will begin on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, with a burial to follow at the Placitas Catholic Cemetery. Reception to follow the burial at the Church Hall.
