Eric “Stix” Martinez, 44, a resident of Chimayo passed away suddenly on Friday, May 29, 2015. Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Lynn Martinez; maternal grandfather, Homer Glass; paternal grandfather, Fernando Martinez; uncles, Donald Martinez, Kenny Martinez, Jerry Glass, Eluid Martinez; cousin, Sharon Moya and Chris Glass. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Caroline Martinez of Ranchos de Taos; children, Shane, Isaiah, Dillon, and Adrian Martinez all of Ranchos de Taos; sister, Deana Martinez of Chimayo; niece, Ashley Velasquez of Chimayo; grandmothers, Alicia Glass and Arolinda Martinez both of Chimayo; aunts and uncles, Alfonso Martinez and wife Vicky of Ranchos de Taos, Olivia McDuff of Washington, Andy Martinez and Yolanda of Texas, Fernando Martinez and wife Bertha of Albuquerque, Wanda Ferran and husband Lloyd of Hernandez, Rito Martinez and wife Kris of Colorado, Avelina Martinez and husband Jimmy of Santa Cruz, Ida Moreno and husband Javier of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Martinez and wife Bonnie of Colorado, Esther Martinez of Española, Felecia Martinez of Chimayo, Beverly Trujillo and husband Bert of Rio Chiquito, Andrew Martinez, Bobby Martinez and wife Elsie, Lorenzo Martinez and wife Tessie, Elsie Martinez all of Chimayo and numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española, with a burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery in Chimayo. The family of Eric “Stix” Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
