Eraldo - Age 80 - Canjilon Martinez

ERALDO MARTINEZ, 80, a resident of Canjilon, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Veroniz Martinez; daughter, Baby Elena; brother, Antonio J. Martinez; sister, Lucaria Martinez; grandsons, Dennis Rey Romero and Kirby Martinez; sons-in-law, Richard Leyba and Dennis R. Romero. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife of 60 years, Adela Martinez of Canjilon; 12 children, Ramoncita Romero of Fairview, Nobert Martinez and wife Beatrice of Bloomfield, Eligio Martinez of Canjilon, Eraldo Martinez Jr. and wife Bernice of Flora Vista, Marie Barela and husband Tony of Coyote, Diana Villalobos and husband Dario of Flora Vista, Helen Martinez and husband Kenneth of Fairview, Della Saiz and husband Al of Aztec, Matthew Martinez of Canjilon, Leonard Martinez and wife Darlene of Farmington, Felipe Martinez and wife Gloria of Española and Juanita Salazar and husband Sabino of Canjilon; sisters, Victoria Martinez of Canjilon, Atocha Vigil of Canjilon, Alice Montaño of American Fork, Utah; 36 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon. Burial to follow at the Canjilon catholic cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Karl Romero, Trent Martinez, Tommy Martinez, Darrell Martinez, Damian Villalobos, Monty Saiz, Matthew Martinez Jr. and Donovan Martinez. Honorary pallbearer named is Andres Salazar. The Martinez family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
