Epimenio - Age 97 - El Guique Martinez

Epimenio Martinez – Age 97 passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque with his daughter Sarah by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Mela Martinez on September 9, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his parents: Lucas and Sara Martinez; his stepmother, Anita Martinez; his brothers: Henry, Juan and Pete Martinez; his sisters: Gregorita Gallegos, Teresina Cordova and Perfecta Gallegos; his daughter-in-law: Teresa Bridget Rodriguez, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his son, Dr. Gilbert Martinez of Albuquerque; his daughters: Sarah Rendon of Santa Fe, Diana Jimenez of Albuquerque and Theresa Martinez (Charles) of Alcalde; 6 grandsons: Kevin, Matthew Martinez and wife Jolene of San Juan, Jeff Martinez and wife Paige of Chili, Tim Martinez and wife Pamela of Santa Fe, Joey and Marcos Jimenez of Albuquerque; 3 granddaughters: Julieanne Rendon of Tennessee, Marisa Jimenez and husband Harvey (Donovin) of Albuquerque, and Marlena Martinez and her fiancé Josh Chavez of Albuquerque; 2 great-grandsons: Christian Martinez and Bryan Martinez; 5 great-granddaughters: Catelynn, Emily, Aubree and Aspen Martinez and Evelyn Jimenez; sister-in-law, Luisa Martinez of El Guique and numerous other in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Burial will follow at the San Rafael Cemetery in El Guique. Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Matthew, Jeff, Tim and Christian Martinez, Joey and Marcos Jimenez and Josh Chavez; honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren: Catelynn, Emily, Bryan, Aubree, Aspen and Evelyn.
