Enrique -age 67 - El Rancho Fernandez Majalca

Enrique Fernandez Majalca, age 67, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather who was a resident of El Rancho, passed away peacefully as he was surrounded by family on Thursday, January 1, 2015 after battling a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abelardo and Amparo Fernandez. Enrique was born August 14, 1947 in Chihuahua, Mexico and had migrated to Espanola, New Mexico when he was 19 years old. Since then he has been a lifelong resident living in Espanola, Pojoaque, and El Rancho. He was a farmer at heart and loved to ride horses. During his youth you could often find him hanging out at any of the local rodeos. He was nicknamed “Cowboy” by his friends and family.\r\nEnrique is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Charlene Fernandez; his children, Barbara Fernandez, her companion David Talamantes, son Enrique Fernandez and wife Renee, daughter Amparo Jeffrey and husband Aaron, son Lalo, and daughter Gloria. He had six siblings, sister Hortencia Fernandez Nunez of Chihuahua, brothers Perfecto Fernandez of Chihuahua, Alvaro Fernandez of Cuatemoc, Octavio Fernandez of Chimayo, Norberto Fernandez of Cuatemoc, and Alberto Fernandez of Cuatemoc. He had 15 beautiful grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Cesar, Eric, Yasmin, Jayro, Clariza, Issahi, Devin, Anique, Alyse, Francesca, Flora, Jarrod, David, Angelique, and Jacob. He also had two great-grandchildren Angel and Jasmine. He also had many wonderful friends whom he cared about greatly.\r\nMemorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Truth Ministries Calvary Chapel in Arroyo Seco, 18496 Highway 84 & 285, Espanola, NM 87532. A reception will be held directly afterwards at Big Dawgs Chuck wagon Café in Espanola. Burial will be held at a later date. The family of Enrique Fernandez Majalca has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
