My beloved wife, EMILY MARES-LANG, 73, a native of Taos went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014. She died at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe of head trauma after a reckless driver hit her while she was walking.\r\nEmily grew up on La Loma in Taos surrounded by her 3 sisters, mom and dad and neighbors who were called Tio and Tia. As a young woman Emily was a talented seamstress who taught herself the techniques of making her own clothes. Family and friends knew her as a person who was totally generous, kind, thoughtful and charitable. She cherished her relationships and remained close family and friends.\r\n She worked at the First National Bank and Taos Travel Agency before moving to Los Alamos where she served people at Los Alamos Visiting Nurses.\r\n Her mother, Emily Romo-Mares lived to be 100 passed in 2009 and her dad, Juan Mares preceded her in death in 1982.\r\n Mrs. Lang is survived by her husband, Edmund Lang; siblings, Mary Ann Cano (Tony), Carmen Mares-Kelly (Al), Rose Marie Townsend, John Michael Patee (Aimee), Christine and Rachael Patee, Patrick Patee (April), Brandon and Kameron Patee, Tanya Kelly Bowry (Chris) and Skylar and Jayden Bowry; niece, Theresa; great-nieces, Katrina, Maijh, Kiyanna, Devonay and Kadijah; nephew, Paul and other relatives and friends.\r\nA rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos.\r\nThe family of Emily Mares-Lang has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
