Emilia - Age 73 - Chimayo - Vigil

EMILIA MARIA VIGIL, 73, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her son, Max Vigil; daughter, Sharon Vigil; grandson, Nicholas Smith; father, Maximino Martinez; mother, Margarita Vigil; step-father, Antonio Vigil; mother-in-law, Sabina Vigil; father-in-law, Fabian Vigil; sister, Celestina Maes and brother-in-law, Juanito Maez. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her husband, Tiburcio Vigil of Chimayo; children, Dicky Vigil, Joyce Pacheco (Michael), Joel Vigil (Elizabeth) all of Chimayo; sister, Beatrice Pereo (Fermin) of Hernandez; brother, Prax Martinez (Sylvia) of Espanola; sister Celine Martinez (Margarito) of Chimayo; grandchildren, Joshua Vigil of Chimayo, Sandee Vigil of Abuquerque, Ericka Vigil, Marty Vigil of Penasco, Kathleen Ortiz of Santa Fe, Nichole Martinez, Joey Martinez of Chimayo, Veronica Vigil of Peralta, Jolene Vigil of Santa Fe and Fabian Vigil (Laura) of Columbus, OH; 6 great-grandchildren and a life-long friend, Minnie Vigil. A special thanks to Valerie Moreland, her niece from Chimayo. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church in Chimayo with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also at The Lighthouse Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Carmel Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Martinez, Marty Vigil, Joshua Vigil, Roman Martinez, Johnny Garcia and Gerald Vigil. The family of Emilia Maria Vigil has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
