Elvira V. - Age 86 - Espanola - Maez

Elvira V. Maez, age 86, a resident of Espanola passed away on Sunday, Apirl 25, 2010 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Timie Vigil; father, Delfido Vigil; step-mother, Adela Vigil; sister-in-law, Mary Vigil; brother, Samuel Vigil; sisters, Francis Jaramillo and Soraida Trujillo. Elvira had a beautiful garden, was a great cook and enjoyed composing songs and singing them. She was very friendly and helpful to everyone. She is survived by her beloved friend, Cecilio Lopez of Espanola; a dearly loved niece, Amelia Jaramillo of Arizona; niece, Ruby Trujillo of Chimayo, Mary Martinez of Ranchitos and nephew, Joe Trujillo of Ranchitos; nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, Sorida DeAguero, Brenda DeVargas, David and Jesse Trujillo; friends, Gloria Nelson, Blanca Morales, Olga and Enrique Ortiz, Margarita and Rigo Lopez and Gloria Garcia; cousins, Bernie Martinez of Espanola, Cedelia Lopez of San Pedro and Genoveva Vigil of Chimayo and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory; a rosary will be recited on 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. The family would like to thank Options, Ever Care Hospice, and Caregiver, Sabinita Aragon de Chimayo, for their care of our beloved Elvira during her illness.
