Elvira R. Lopez – Age 93 a resident of Ojito was born on March 17, 1917. She died on Friday, January 14, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Concepcion Gilbert Lopez, Sr.; mother, Librada Romero; father, Juan Augustine Romero; sister, Patrocinia Casados; brother, Gilberto Romero; and grandson, Benito Ortega. She is survived by her brother, Rudolfo Romero of Chamisal; children: Elizaida Jane Arguello and partner Martin Carmona of Ojito, Libby Nora Ortega of Dixon, Concepcion Gilbert Lopez, Jr. and wife Esther of Utah; seven grandchildren: Joe, Ivan, Valerie and Ben Arguello, Jacob and Pearl Lopez and Eric Ortega; fourteen great-grandchildren: Darice, Jerold, Dominic, Shane, Alexander, Joe, Azul and Clayton Arguello, Isaac, Randy, Thomas, Alexandria, Savannah and Zachary Lopez; three great-great grandchildren: Jerold Arguello Jr., Bethany Arguello and Dominic Arguello, Jr.; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be, Shane Arguello; serving as pallbearers will be: Joe Arguello, Jr., Ivan Arguello, Benny Arguello, Jacob Lopez, Dominic Arguello and Joe Arguello III.
