Elvira A. Martinez, 79, a lifelong resident of Chimayo, NM, was born on September 4, 1943. She departed us on Saturday, February 18, 2023, to honor her call to come home to the lord. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and above all, a dedicated Wife who missed her partner in crime, our Dad, also known as "Lee (Lizard) Martinez," who preceded her in death on December 13, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Father Juan Pedro Archuleta, Mother Rebecca S. Archuleta, and her siblings Jerry Archuleta, Olivama Archuleta, Ernesto Archuleta, Trinidad Vigil, and Porfirio Archuleta. She is survived by her siblings Leo Archuleta, Videlio Archuleta, and Lougarda Montoya.
Our mom, known to everyone as "Aunt Viddie," is a true testament of a woman who developed an anchored backbone with her lifelong partner, all the while maintaining their integrity and religious beliefs at all costs while uplifting and being a positive influence too her children never to give up. That's our “Mom”! We will miss you dearly and may you rest in peace with Dad.
Elvira is survived by her children, Annette D. Martinez, Amorette D. Martinez, Amery D. Martinez, and Shree A.L. Martinez. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Zoe P. Gabaldon and Coty J. Quintana, and three great-grandchildren, Jacob E. Quintana, Elnathen P. Quintana, and Eliyah Quintana, along with many other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
