Eloy - Age 77 - Española Romero

Eloy Romero – Age 77 a resident of Española passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Telesfor and Beatrice Romero; and two brothers: Telesfor Romero, Jr. and Lalo Romero; granddaughter, Ashley Romero. Eloy was a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan; he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tessie Romero of Española; children: Patricia Flores of Española, Steven Romero and wife Sylvia of Glorieta, Jeff Romero and wife Renee of Los Alamos and Tim Romero and wife Melanie of Glorieta; sister, Josephine Wallace of Santa Fe; brothers and sisters-in-law: Juan Bustos of Santa Fe, Carmel Archuleta and husband Walter and Margie Tanuz and husband Johnny all of Santa Fe, Gloria Fox of Rio Rancho and Ila Friday and husband Ivan of Santa Fe; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory at 623 N. Railroad Ave – Española, NM 87532 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Jessie Baca, Phil Salazar, Walter Archuleta, Martin Romero, Myron Tanuz and Floyd Romero. The family of Eloy Romero has entrusted the care of their beloved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
