Elizario Martinez

Elizario M. Martinez, 76, lifelong resident of Chimayo, NM was born June 28, 1939. Departed us on Sunday, December 13, 2015 to honor his call from he who is, “I AM'' to come home. Our Father was a righteous man and was preceded in death by his parents, Father Lucas E. Martinez, Mother Adelita M. Martinez, of Chimayo, sister, Matilda Vigil, of Chimayo, nephews Michael and Joseph Martinez, of Chimayo, cousin Jimmy L. Martinez, of Chimayo and nephew Danny Martinez, of Chimayo.  Elizario was the first and most innovative, talented business man to open up an Auto Body paint and repair shop in the greater Chimayo Valley, whose business thrived for over 40 years.   Elizario who was also known as “Lee or Lizard” by many patrons, family and friends took great pride in his work, not only did he excel in providing excellent paint and auto body repair work but was a Legend for creating the two tone shading among other talented art work for which he used in his specialty “Customized” auto paint jobs for the ever popular “Low-Rider”.  To this day pictures of his excellence of art work of those Customized Low-Rider paint jobs can be found and seen in several Santa Fe Art Galleries.  He was a devoted husband, who is survived by his wife, Elvira Martinez, UK, proud father of four children, daughter, Annette D. Martinez, 53, daughter, Amorette D. Martinez, 44, son, Amery D. Martinez, 41, daughter, Shree A.L. Martinez, 36, proud grandfather of his grandchildren, grandson, Coty J. Quintana, 28, granddaughter, Zoe P. Gabaldon, 11, and adored his two great grandsons, Jacob E. Quintana, 7 and Elnathen Quintana, 8 months. He is also survived by his siblings’ sister Florinda DeAguero, Chimayo, brother, Leo Martinez, Chimayo, sister, Lupe Padilla, Chimayo and brother, Joe Martinez, Chimayo.  Along with many other brother-in laws, sister-in laws many nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 6:30p.m. at the at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a rosary to follow at 7:00p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00a.m. also oat the Holy Family Parish in Chimayo. Burial will be at a later date. The family would like to invite you for a luncheon at the Arbolera Community Center at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. The family would appreciate in lieu of condolences you come celebrate his life with us. Dad we love you, miss you and are so proud of you. The family of Elizario M.
