Elizaida Age - 81 - El Rito Martinez

Elizaida Martinez, 81, a resident of El Rito passed away from a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She loved roses, all her grandchildren, cooking and piñon picking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and great great-grandma, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Elizaida was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Antonio Ocana and Camilla; sisters: Acencion Valdez and Maria Hortancia Jaramillo; granddaughters: Valerie and Adriana Martinez. Elizaida is survived by her husband of 63 years, Federico Martinez; children: T.J. Martinez and wife Judy, Patsy Duran and husband Juan, Silviano Martinez and wife Vickie, Leroy Martinez and wife Gina, Dennis Martinez and wife Rosita, Lulu Duran and husband Jesus and Vangie Martinez; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother, Cosmes Ocana and wife Annie; sisters: Sophia Archuleta, Soraida Herrera, Frances Archuleta and husband Ted; numerous nephews, nieces and loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito with burial to follow at Martinez Cemetery in El Rito with the following serving the family as pallbearers: Silviano Jr., Juan Jr., Archie, Ernest, Toby, Jeff, Vincent, Orlando and Timo.
