Elizabeth “Liz Lisa Quintana, 37, a resident of Santa Cruz passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Saturday, November 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, Heremenjildo Quintana; paternal grandmother, Maria Reyes, paternal grandfather, Francisco Quintana, maternal grandparents, Ramon Leyba and Dorothy Montoya. Liz was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. Her passion was bowling and she could sit and watch movies, a couple of her favorites were Hunger Games, Hercules, among many others. Pitch perfect was in the plans to go watch but she did not have the opportunity her life was cut way too short. Liz had wanted to plan a road trip for her family. She had so many plans, Liz was hard working and got along with all her workers. She was a devoted employee who wouldn’t miss even if she was ill. Her dog Nicholas will miss her so much as well as will all her family and friends. “Rest in peace Liz”. Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Ruby Leyba of Albuquerque; sisters, Bernadette Quintana and companion Jorge of Hernandez, Irene Leyba and companion Miguel of Santa Cruz, Julie Salazar and husband Carlos of Santa Cruz, Adriana Quintana, and Minerva Quintana both of Temosachic Chihuahua, brother, Heremenjildo Quintana Jr. of Hernandez, nieces and nephews, Antoinette Leyba, Estrella Chavez, Daniel Leyba all of Santa Cruz, Nallely, Genesis, and Kayla Hernandez all of Hernandez, Gabriel Quintana of Española, Kaleb Quintana of Hernandez, Andrew Salazar, Brandon Salazar, Estevan Reynoso, Angel Rubio and Vida Rubio all of Chimayo, great-nieces, Alexis Leyba of Santa Cruz, Roxanne Leyba of Santa Cruz, great-nephew, Xavier Leyba of Hernandez Damian Pacheco of Santa Cruz; cousins, Alex Leyba and wife Eliza, Christopher Leyba, Nichole Leyba and Daniel Leyba all of Hernandez, and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española, with a burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Hermenejildo Quintana Jr., Bernadette Quintana, Jorge Marquez, Alex Leyba, Miguel Garcia, Carlos Rubio, Daniel Leyba, and Chris Leyba, honorary pallbearers Antonnette Leyba, Estrella Chavez, Gabriel Quintana, Kaleb Quintana, Genesis Hernandez Kayla Hernandez, and Nallely Hernandez.
