Eliza Priscilla Armenta

Eliza P. Armenta (Espinoza) at the age of 86, went home to our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday August 26, 2023, after a short illness.  Mom was born on Valentine’s Day which she would remind everyone how special that was so she always got much love from all.  She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.  Eliza was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother.

Eliza was born in Madrid, New Mexico where her father Vidal Lalo Espinoza worked in the mines.  She had such great memories of living there with her mother Eufelia Espinoza and her siblings.  She then moved with the family to Albuquerque where she attended Albuquerque High School where she graduated from with top grades.  If you graduated from anywhere else, she would say that she graduated from the oldest established school.

Mom was a very outgoing sophisticated lady.  She had the most beautiful green eyes; she would tease every one that her son Lawrence was lucky to have her eyes.  Mom loved to look her best with her hair done, nails done and dressed very nicely.  Melissa made sure to keep her in fashion until the end.  She loved Melissa so much and visa a versa mom couldn’t ask for anything that Melissa would not hesitate to get her.

Mom made friends so easily, she was so outgoing that everywhere she lived she made friends; her family. There are so many people to thank for making moms life so fulfilled all these years.  She missed many that left before her and will leave a living community missing her.   She was a very loyal friend, she took one resident under her wing, she spoke very fondly of Phil.

Eliza is preceded in death by her parents Vidal Lalo and Eufelia Espinoza-Serna. Husband Roumaldo Armenta.  Son Alvin Armenta, Sister Mary Lou Healy (Elbert), Brothers: Joseph William Espinoza (Billy), Arthur Anthony Espinoza (Ramona), Tito Espinoza.

She is survived by her Son Lawrence Armenta (Claudine), Daughter Melissa Chavez (Freddie), Son Daniel Armenta, Brother Joe Rick Espinoza (Dorinda), Sister-in-Law Frances Espinoza, Grand Children: Albert Sanchez IV (Cierah), Annie Padilla (Jerome), Valerie Jaramillo (Pedro), Lauren Quintana (Christopher), Lawrence Armenta. Great Grand Children Josh Jaramillo (Tiffany), Elijah (Kate), Josiah, Great-Great Grand Children Albert Sanchez V aka Axel, Lennon Sanchez, Zion Jaramillo, Zamar Jaramillo and Elisha Jaramillo. Many nieces and nephews that mom loved deeply.

Rosary will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 9:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church of Nambe.  Funeral Mass to follow the rosary at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church of Nambe and internment at Rosario Cemetery at 2:00 pm in Santa Fe, NM.
