ELENA CINTORA De CARMONA, also known as Ma Nena, 74, a resident of Chamita passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eluterio Cintora Calderon and Maria Soledad Cintora; daughter-in-law, Martina Carmona and son, Reginaldo Carmona. She was born in Yurirria Guanaguato, and moved to New Mexico where she was a residence for the past 24 years. She was very warm hearted lady who won everyone’s heart with her sweet kindness she had for everyone. She loved being surrounded by her loving family, one thing she loved so much was being outside taking care of her garden, and most of all she loved arts and crafts like making her rag dolls from scratch for her grandchildren. When her family gave her keepsake pictures she would make picture frames with her own hands to adorn them. Mrs. Carmona is survived by her husband of 58 years, Reginaldo Carmona of Chamita; children, Trenidad Vasquez and husband Santiago of Chamita, Rustico Carmona and wife Geraldine of El Duende, Manuel Carmona and wife Sandra of El Guique, Martin Carmona and wife Jane of Peñasco, Carmelo Carmona of Chamita, Jorge Carmona and wife Lee of El Duende, Isidro Carmona and wife Mary, Amalia Alcantar and husband Cruz, Reginaldo Carmona and wife Alva and grandson raised as a son, Antonio Carmona and wife Adrianna all of Rio Chama; sister, Margarita Carmona and husband Oliverio of Mexico; 58 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and many relative and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at the Alcalde Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Rustico, Manuel, Martin, Jorge, Isidro, Reginaldo and Antonio Carmona, and Lupe Alcantar. Honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family of Elena De Carmona has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
