Elefio Montoya

ELEFIO MONTOYA, 94, born in Truchas on November 24, 1921, passed away in Fairview on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born to Esquipula and Dionicia (Pacheco) Montoya who precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Tafoya); sons, Eric and Orlando; brothers, Rosendo, Pablin, Atanacio, Elizardo and Evaristo; sisters, Cleotilde and Florinda. Mr. Montoya is survived by his sons, Elefio (Sonny) and wife Gloria, Isaac and companion Brenda and her son, Leon Martinez; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer), Adam (Amity), Aaron (Charlene), Elena and companion Eduardo; great-grandchildren, Katie, Avrey, Mateo, Noah, Alannah, Alyvia, Angelo, Stephen and Carmela; great-great-grandchild, Blake Lynn as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional to begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Truchas. Burial to follow at Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Jodi Casados, Gentiva Hospice and Ambercare Hospice for their wonderful care for Elefio Montoya.
