Eduvijen Martinez

Eduvijen L. Martinez, 83, a lifelong resident of El Rito, NM, went to her glory peacefully and quietly surrounded by her children on April 28, 2023. Affectionately known as DeeDee, she was the most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She will always be remembered as the strength and cornerstone of our family.

She is predeceased by her parents, Eutimio and Cleotilde Lopez, husband Antonio (Tony J.) Martinez, beloved son Felipe J. Martinez and brother Eutimio Lopez Jr.

Eduvijen is survived by her daughters Sylvia Abreu (Bob), Alice Martinez-Quintana (Dennis), son Steven Martinez; her sisters Sadie Bowling, Irene Lopez (Gabriel) and brother Antonio Lopez. She is also survived by the “gems” of her life, her grand and great-grandchildren.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Las Clinicas Del Norte and the entire staff at Ambercare/SF. Also, a special and heartfelt thank you to our brother Steven Martinez for the loving dedication and care he provided to our mom.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM. A funeral mass will follow. A private burial is scheduled for a later date.

Pallbearers will be Allan Abreu, Adam Abreu, Jerome Archuleta, Ethan Abreu, Jacob Abreu, Lorenzo Archuleta. Honorary pallbearer, Anita Castaneda.
