Eduardo M. - Age 79 - Ojo Caliente - Lovato

Eduardo M. Lovato, a resident of Ojo Caliente passed away unexpectedly but peacefully with his family by his side on May 13, 2010. He was born on July 22, 1930 in Las Tablas, NM to the late Juan Bautista Lovato and Elena Archuleta. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Lovato, his children, Linda and Michael Garcia of Peñasco, LeRoy Lovato of Farmington, John and Patricia Lovato of Albuquerque, James and Nora Lovato of Chamita, Fred and Karla Lovato of Bloomfield, Barbara, Richard, Helen and his special angel, Tracy Lovato of Ojo Caliente; sisters, Christina Griego of La Madera, Dora and Torrie Sanchez of Farmington, Alice and Carlos Martinez of Solano; brothers, Levi Lovato of Las Tablas and Clyde and Beverly of Fairview along with many nieces and nephews. Eddie had 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. Eddie the “Unofficial/Mayor of Ojo Caliente” enjoyed having his morning coffee at El Taquito and talking about the local business matters of the community with his many, many friends and any tourist who had time. He also enjoyed getting his daily exercise walking throughout the casinos and talking to all his friends. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. A second Rosary will be recited on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with Father Pat Chavez officiating. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with the following assisting as pallbearers will be his grandsons Danny Garcia, Victor, Johnny, Steven and David Lovato and Christopher Dominguez, Ben and Gabriel Lovato and Matthew Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be all his granddaughters. Eduardo will be greatly missed and never forgotten. The family of Eduardo M.
