Edith Gallegos

EDITH A. GALLEGOS , 59, a resident of Pojoaque, was born on June 29, 1960 in Las Vegas, NM and she was welcomed into the doors of Heaven on April 19, 2020 following a lengthy illness and was surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Emma Christianson; brother, Rick Christianson; and grandparents, Rudolph and Juanita Trujillo. She retired from the State of New Mexico in June 2018 to spend more time with family, friends, and most of all her grandchildren. She cared for each of her grandchildren for the first year of their lives. Some of her favorite pastimes include baking during the holidays and special occasions, she enjoyed crafting, spending time outdoors and watching all of her grandchildren playing sports, dancing, and cheering. Her gentle, kind spirit touched everyone she met and left a lasting impression. She will be greatly missed but her memory will live on through her legacy with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Andrew Gallegos; daughter, Denise Gallegos; six grandchildren, Mariah Chavez, Jordan Chavez, Ryan Gallegos, Allison Gallegos, Mikayla Romero, and Lacey Gallegos. Edith held close to her heart, her aunt, which was more like a sister, Anita Ortega and husband Tony; her cousin which was also like a sister, Diane Trujillo-Vigil; her Godson, Jonathan Ortega; best friend, Valerie Trujillo, along with many other family and friends who have showed their loving support throughout this difficult journey. A private service will be held. A church service and burial in a family plot in Las Vegas to be announced at a later date. The family of Edith A. Gallegos has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
