Edalia M. Age - 85 Bernalillo/Cañones Garcia

Edalia M. Garcia, 85, a resident of Bernalillo born in Cañones passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011. She was a life member of the Catholic Church. Edalia enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ofenonicio and Adeliada Vialpando; son, Billy Vialpando; her life companion, Mariano Garcia; 3 sisters: Celia, Rosabra and Olivama; brother, Jose Dolores. Edalia is survived by her son, Phil R. Vialpando and wife Terry of Duarte, CA; step-son, Domingo Rivas of Bernalillo, NM; grandchildren: Bernice Vialpando, Johnny Vialpando, Nonnie Trujillo, Christobal Vialpando and Robert Vialpando; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; sister, Claudina Salazar of Cañones; brother, Epimenio Lucero of Cañones. Public visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Cañones with burial to follow at San Miguel Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Robert Vialpando, Jerry Serrano, Cerillo Vialpando, Robert Gallegos, Domingo Rivas and Michael Gallegos; honorary pallbearers: Nuno Vialpando and Chris Vialpando.
