Dulcinia Age- 83 Chamisal Garcia-Tafoya

Dulcinia Garcia-Tafoya, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010. She was born to Leopoldo and Sofiria Garcia on January 7, 1927 in Chamisal, NM. Dulcinia’s passion in life was sewing and mending clothes for her children and for the people in the community. She was an accomplished seamstress. In her last year her passion was crocheting hats for friends and the great-grandchildren. Dulcinia was preceded in death by her parents, Leopoldo and Sofiria Garcia; two brothers: Roberto and Prescelino Garcia; two children: Juanita and Herald Tafoya; three sons-in-law: William Herrera, David Rodriguez Jr., and Alex Martinez; one daughter-in-law, Liza Tafoya; two grand-children: Doreen Rodriguez and Adrian Gonzales; the father of her children, Alfonso Tafoya and her companion of many years David Rodriguez. Dulcinia is also survived by her children: Sophie Herrera, Isabel Rodriguez, Pauline Rodriguez and husband Fred, Sandra Gonzales, Alfonso Jr. Tafoya, Ivan Tafoya and Josephine, Wilfred Tafoya and Loretta Arguello and husband Tito. Dulcinia is survived by 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Dulcinia is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Elifido Garcia and wife Marcebella, Celia Sanchez and husband Liberato, Edith Sanchez and husband Filberto, Arturo Garcia and wife Mary, Eloisa Ortiz and husband Martin, Alfonso Garcia and wife Dolores, Jose I. Garcia and wife Isabel, Richardo Garcia and wife Frances and Jerry Garcia and wife Josie. She is also survived by a multiple of nephews and nieces. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Emmamuel Presbyterian Church in Peñasco with a Devotional Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at the Upper Chamisal Cemetery in Chamisal with the following serving as pallbearers: Matthew Herrera, Tim Herrera, David Rodriguez, Melissa Rodriguez, Claudette Pacheco, Arturo Tafoya, Wilfred Tafoya, Jacob Tafoya.
