DOROTHY DIXON

DOROTHY M. DIXON, 62, a resident of Hernandez, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Alice Dixon; nephew, JohnRay Gurule; siblings, Leroy and Isidoro Dixon; nephew, Brian Dixon; brothers-in-law, Fred Medina, Michael Romero and Ersenio Archuleta. She was employed for Espanola Schools for 27 years. She also painted numerous murals on the wall at Hernandez Elementary School. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Abe Montoya; daughter, Toni J. Dixon; sisters, Teresa (Finiano) Garcia, Dolores Archuleta, Denise Gurule (Chris), and Frances Medina, brothers, Howard Dixon (Sandy), Martin “Pancho” Dixon (Debbie) sister-in-law, Anna Mae Dixon; In-laws, Eliseo Montoya and Irene Montoya; 12 nieces and nephews, and 21 great-nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and doctors at Kindred Hospital in Albuquerque, Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho and to the DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the San Jose Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Community Center. Serving the Family as honorary pallbearers are John Gurule, Brian Dixon, and Eliseo Salazar. The family of Dorothy M.
