Dorothy - 91 - La Mesilla Garinger

DOROTHY S. NEWMAN GARINGER, 91, a resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Dorothy was born on December 17, 1921 in Raton, NM to Daisy and William Newman. She married Clifford L. Garinger on August 22, 1942, and they were still married when she became a widow in January of 2009. They were blessed with 3 children. When the family moved to Los Alamos, NM in 1950, Dorothy was a dental assistant for a few years then worked at the Lab in Los Alamos as a metallographer until her retirement. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Española. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Casados of Española and Bonny Baca and husband Narciso of Mangas, NM; her son, Neil Garinger and wife Sandy of La Mesilla; grandchildren, Jeremy Casados, Connie Lamb, Daniel Baca and Cody Garinger; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. The Garinger family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
