Donna Wessel

Donna Grace Wessel, 88, a resident of Berlin, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 with her family by her side. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sargeant Frederick David Wessel; siblings, Norman Viertel (LeMoyne), Charlotte Mastricola and Gretchen Thomas (Kenneth); parents, Carl and Genevieve Viertel and dog, Freckles. Donna was Ms. Berlin in 1949 and an avid bowler and gardener. She was a big Green Bay Packer fan and loved playing poker, cribbage and many board games. She traveled the world with her husband Frederick while he was in the Air Force, living in places like Taiwan, France and Spain. Donna loved spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly. Donna is survived by her daughter, Paula Wessel-Schmitt (Mark Schmitt); grandchildren, Samantha Schmitt-Brittelle (Mack) and Matthew Schmitt; sister, Cynthia Viertel; special niece, Sarah Sobralski; special nephew, Steven Thomas and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held in Berlin, Wisconsin at a later date. The family of Donna Grace Wessel has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
