Donald Montoya Sr., 73, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh passed away on July 22, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Celina Montoya; brothers, Toby, Joe, and Arnold Montoya; sister, Carm Archuleta; in-laws, Amarante and Donna Silva; brothers-in-law, Emmett and Henry Silva, Ed Little; grandsons, Jaden Luke Montoya and Amarante Jose Montoya; nephew Stewart Archuleta. Mr. Montoya was a Tribal police officer for Ohkay Owingeh for 23 years. He loved fishing, making rattles, and playing with his dog Natasha. He also enjoyed going to the adult care center in Santa Clara. Donald is survived by his wife Cecelia Montoya; children, Henry Montoya, Donna Vigil, and Donald J. Montoya Jr. (Tomasita); grandchildren, Anisa Vigil and Toby Rayne Begay; sisters, Reyecita Archuleta, Manuelita Torrez, Terry Montoya, Lourdes Little, Sharron (Gary); brothers Peter Montoya (Mary), Michael Montoya (Ruth); God-children, Elton Montoya, Ryan Aguino, Sharon Krantz (Robert) as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services for Donald have taken place. The 8 day mass will be held on Saturday July 30, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh.
