Donald Kirk

DONALD ROY KIRK, 88, a resident of Carson, NM, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Patricia McMenimon; father, Earl Roy Kirk. Donald was raised mostly in Carson until he joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served for 10 years. He met and married Pat in San Diego, CA where they raised their 4 children. In 1978 they returned to Carson where they resided until his passing. He had a great love of the outdoors which included sailing, fishing, and gardening. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was kind and considerate always teaching his family and others by example. He was a man of faith and gave devoted service to his church. Donald is survived by his wife, Irene P. Kirk of Carson, NM; daughters, Donna McClelland of Albuquerque, Carrie Kirk of Taos, NM, Wendy Benedict of Randolph VT, son, Joseph Kirk of Flagstaff AZ; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tres Piedras, NM with a burial to follow in Carson, NM.
