Dolores Irene Roybal

Dolores Irene Roybal, age 77, of Santa Cruz, NM, born April 1946, passed away on November 5, 2023, of natural causes. 

Dolores was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grand mother and auntie.  She dedicated her life to raising her family, serving the Church as a Catechism instructor, and also served as a substitute teacher in the 70s at Sombrillo Elementary and in the 2000s at McCurdy Charter School.  She will forever be remembered for her love, gentleness and service to the Lord Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents Jose Alberto and Martha Lopez, brother Joe Lopez; daughter-in-law Phaedra Roybal; brother-in-law Jason Smith; sister-in-law Marcella Lopez; niece Marcy Lopez and Mercedes Roybal; nephew Joey Lopez, Michael Lopez, Alfred Roybal and Joshua Roybal.

Dolores is survived by husband Albert A. Roybal; sons Daniel Lopez, Albert R. Roybal, Bryant N. Roybal (Debbie), Carl G. Roybal; daughter Judy M. Roybal; sisters Ramoncita Smith and Beatrice Roybal (Alfred); brother Peter Lopez; grandchildren Ashlee Roybal, Zachary Roybal, Arianna Roybal, Katlyn Roybal, Vanna Ortega, Shayna Roybal, Aliyah Roybal, Tristan Roybal, Charlie Roybal, Christine M. Stoliby, Julian Bourquet, and Jordan Bourquet; great grandchildren Bowen G. Roybal Collins M. Roybal and Elsie L. Roybal.

Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 5:30 PM at the DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning, November 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Church de la Canada in Santa Cruz.  Burial will follow afterwards at the Holy Cross Church Cemetery in El Llano.

Serving as Pallbearers are Charlie Roybal, Jordan Bourquet, Sun-Toc Khalsa, Lawrence Romero Jr., Danny Mondragon, Katlyn Roybal.
