Dixie Garcia

Dixie Garcia, 68, of Hernandez, NM, passed unexpectedly on March 10, 2024. She was born in Espanola in 1956 to Miguel and Mary T Duran. 

Dixie was preceded in death by her Grandma Annie, Grandpa Fernandez, mother-in-law Irene Garcia, Padrinos Tony and Eulojia Martinez. 

She is survived by her mother Mary T Duran, Husband Ralph Garcia Jr., Son Fernando Garcia, Daughter Ana-Maria Garcia (Amanda), Grandsons Jordan and Ezra Garcia, Sister Annette Duran-Gonzales (Manuel), Brothers Jerry Duran (Janet) and Patrick Duran, Nephew Patrick, Nieces Michelle (Anthony), Melissa (Diego), Amy (Robert) and many other nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Dixie loved her family more than anything. Especially her grandsons Jordan and Ezra, she would do anything for them. Dixie was generous, compassionate, comforting, a dreamer, kind, and passionate. But the best word to describe her is home. She always made people feel welcome and as though she always had time for them. She wanted to be successful, but more than that she wanted to see others succeed. 

The Rosary will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, NM, on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:30 am.  Mass will take place at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
