Diolinda “Dollie” Naranjo, a resident of Velarde, NM, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, July 15, 2024.
Our mother and grandmother had a compassionate heart and was a natural caregiver. She was selfless, a generous contributor to her community, and served as a nurse for over 30 years. She was a faithful Catholic and her family was her greatest joy. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and going to the casino in her free time. Dollie was known for her radiant, spunky attitude and she will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by husband David; daughter Judith; parents, Corina and Emilio Martinez; father-in-law Emilio Naranjo; mother-in-law Mary Martinez; brothers-in-law Felix Garcia, Milo Naranjo, Joseph Naranjo, Gerald Naranjo, Abedon Lopez; and sister-in-law, Amy Naranjo.
Dollie is survived by daughter Lorynn Serna (Michael); son, David Naranjo; granddaughters Brittany (Caleb), Morgan (Bobby), AthenaGrace; great grandson Mayson, great granddaughters Marahuté and Esper; sisters, Sandra Martinez (Michael), Nora Garcia, Debbie Stevens (Walter), Virginia, Denise Martinez (Chris); brothers Robert Martinez (Renee), and Rick Martinez; brothers-in-law, Benny Naranjo, Barney Naranjo (Stella); sisters-in-law Lorraine Lopez, Susie Salazar (Victor), Jeannette Salazar (Kenny), Carmen Naranjo and Evie Naranjo; brothers-in-law Larry Naranjo, Raul Naranjo, and Reubel Naranjo; sisters-in-law Anna Naranjo, Margarite Naranjo, and Cecil Naranjo.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory in Espanola, NM. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde, NM, with a burial to follow at 2:00 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Serving the family as honorary pallbearers are Rick Martinez, Robert Martinez, Michael Serna, Keith Garcia, Caleb Armijo, Ernest Salazar, Rachel Stevens, Joann Valdez, and Marylina Martinez.
