Dilia Martinez

Dilia Martinez, 65, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 following a lengthy illness.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Fernandez and Rebecca Martinez; sisters, Baby Maria Martinez and Glorinda Garcia; brothers, Baby Juanito, Horacio, Merejildo, Agapito, and Carlos Martinez. Dilia was a very special person that was always happy and loved her family and friends dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ms. Martinez is survived by her son, Jeffery Martinez of Chimayo; granddaughter, Aaliyah Martinez of Chimayo; long-time companion, Miguel Zavala; sisters, Roselia (Rose) Archuleta of Albuquerque and Mary Laurel and husband Bernie of San Antonio, TX; God-daughter whom she loved dearly, Amanda Ashley Laurel of San Antonio, TX; special sister-in-law whom she loved dearly, Matilda Martinez of Alcalde; special cousin, Orlando Coriz of La Mesilla; and many other close relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she loved so dearly. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a Devotional Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Light House Church in Chimayo.
