Diane R. - age 65 - Alcalde Martinez

Diane R. Martinez, 65, a resident of Alcalde, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 6, 2014. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Martinez; parents, Juan and Cerila Lucero; sister, Frances Vigil; son Steve Martinez; grandson, Eric Martinez; father-in-law, Alfredo Martinez. Diane loved cooking, and also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, she liked being outside in the garden and she would always listen to KDCE all day. She loved holidays especially Christmas because the family would get together, but above all she was a very loving mother and grandmother. Diane is survived by her daughters, Debra Martinez and companion Robert, Karleen Campos, Audrey Martinez and companion Victor, son, Johnny Martinez; grandchildren, Timmy Martinez, Melanie Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Vanessa Martinez, Marcos Martinez, April Duran, Anthony Vigil, David Campos, Joeleen Campos, Serena Martinez, and Ayzaiah Martinez, 4 great grandchildren; and her sister, Anna Martinez. A Public Visitation will begin on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at La Villita Cemetery in Alcalde, serving the family as pallbearers will be Timmy, Marcos, Wesley, and Antonio Martinez, David Campos, and Juanito Sanchez, honorary pallbearers named are Melanie, Vanessa, Serena, Victoria, Martinez, April Duran, Joeleen Campos, Anthony Vigil, Tammy Vigil, Ricky Vigil, Raymond Duran, Steve, and Sammy Salazar, Sergio Baca. The family is requesting donations be made to DeVargas Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses. The family of Diane R. Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n \r\n
