Diana L Martinez

Diana L. Martinez, 64, a resident of Truchas, NM, was called home to the Lord on July 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, following a long battle with leukemia. She was born to Susie B. Medina and Frederico P. Medina Sr. on October 26, 1959, in Leadville, CO. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Ernesto E. Martinez; father Frederico Medina Sr.; mother-in-law Corina Martinez as well as many other cherished members of her family.

Diana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed by anyone who knew and loved her. As a teacher at Bilingual Montessori School she adored her students. She enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in her many hobbies, such as going to the casino, reading books, doing puzzles, and being in the mountains. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She especially loved shopping with her Angel on the weekends.

She is survived by her Mother Susie Medina; husband of 42 years, Ernie R Martinez; her daughter Jolyn Martinez (Tomas “Dee-Dee”); granddaughter, who was like her daughter, Angel A. Martinez; precious grandson Andres E. Ramirez; brothers Fred Medina Jr. (Rosemary), David Medina (Maxine) and Mark Medina (Bettina); sister Carol Romero (Gilbert); father-in-law Nelson Martinez; God-daughters Abby Moralez (Ray) and Aspen Coriz-Romero; as well as many other loved nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

 A Rosary will be held at De Vargas Funeral Home in Española, NM, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 6:00 pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at Nuestra Señora del Rosario Mission Church in Truchas, NM, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at San Miguel Truchas Cemetery.
