Deserae Rhonda (Martinez) Hernandez

Deserae Rhonda (Martinez) Hernandez, 34, of Ensenada, NM, sadly left us on July 25, 2023, following a tragic accident. 

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Jake Martinez and Ignacita L. Aguirre, Vidal, and Rose Martinez; step-grandmother Beatrice Martinez, step-grandfather Benito Aguirre, sister Stephanie Padilla; Uncles: Benino, Robert, Paul, Jerry, Matthew, and Freddy Martinez; Aunt: Barbara Martinez.

Deserae had an air about her, a bit flamboyant, and a flair for grand entrances.  There is no doubt you knew when she walked into a room. Her radiant smile, boisterous laugh, and extra loud voice will never be forgotten.  Deserae was tough, fearless, outgoing, and confident, she lived life to the fullest. She was blunt, but not hurtful. Deserae accepted everyone, from every walk of life.  Never held a grudge, well maybe for a short while if you crossed her, but she forgave easily.  She was always ready to lend a hand, this characteristic made her a caring and reliable home health-aide.  Deserae loved her family.  Dear to her heart, her girl’s “Lulu Bug” and “Sita Bonita”.  She also loved “mi rancho” as she called it, there is nowhere in the world that she would rather be.  Her hobbies were swimming and hiking, her annual hike to “El Choro” and “the Cross” were her favorite.  Deserae’s sudden passing has a left a void in many hearts.

She is survived by husband Jesus Hernandez; daughters Lourdes Life and Jesusita Hernandez; stepchildren Nameira and Josiah Hernandez, Nathaniel Rivera; Parents Chris and Laverne Martinez; Sisters: Suzzette Garcia (Juan), Heather Gallegos (Kat); brothers: Christopher and Christino Martinez; nephews: Jerod Walker, Egypt Dupree, Chris and Joziyah Martinez; nieces: Naveah Trujillo, Miranda, Angelica, and Jazzmyn Martinez, great niece Stephanie Walker;  Uncles: Eddie Martinez; Aunts: Gloria Martinez, Pauline Bustos (Ralph), Roseann Gallegos (Larry), Frieda and Fatima Martinez, Valorie Parker; God-parents Steven and Lisa Polaco; god-sister and god-brother Tessa and Marcos Polaco, numerous cousins and countless of friends, all who were special to her.

Memorial Service, August 11, 2023, at 5:30 pm, Valley Bible Baptist, 56 Arroyo Seco Cir, Espanola NM.

Rosary and Mass, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 am, San Jose Catholic Church, Los Ojos NM. Burial following in Ensenada, NM, at the family plot.
