Derrick Benjamin Martinez (Silent Man), a resident of La Villita, NM passed away from complications of Diabetes on Friday, November, 25, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Candido Martinez; maternal grandparents, Roman and Julianna Martinez; paternal grandparents, Celestino and Delfina Martinez; aunt, Lorraine Salter; cousin, Daniel Martinez. Derrick is survived by his mother, Betty Norris and Randy; brother, Johnny Martinez; sisters: Julia Czerwonka and Marvin, JoLynn Stout and Rick, Nora Casaus and Gerald and Carmen Martinez; grandma, Martha Martinez; very close friends: Ronald Espinoza & family and Leonard Serrano; Best Friend; Ricky Lopez, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. The family of Derrick Benjamin Martinez (Silent Man) has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
