Dennis Reyes Trujillo, 55, a resident of Lyden, formerly of Riverside NM, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes and Mela Trujillo; father-in-law, Joe Paul Sanchez; grandparents, Vicente and Cleo Trujillo and, Atanacio and Delfiña Lopez. Dennis is survived by his wife, Phyllis Sanchez Trujillo; sons, Dennis Paul and Orlando Trujillo; daughter, Veronica Trujillo all of Lyden; sister Eliza Sanchez (Phillip) of La Mesilla; brothers, Vincent Trujillo (Pat) of San Pedro, Ralph Trujillo (Peggy) of Riverside, NM; close cousins that he considered brother and sister, Rose Martinez of Española, Mike Lopez (Shirley) of McCurdy, Howard Lopez (Joyce) of Riverside, NM; mother-in-law, Alice Sanchez; brothers-in-law, Perry Sanchez, Allen Sanchez (Tisha); God-daughters, Taylor and Caitlyn Sanchez all of Chamita; padrinos, John and Juanita Bird, of El Llano, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dennis worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Mechanical Engineer. He loved gardening, fishing, traveling, and taking rides to the mountains. He was a very spontaneous person. Public visitation will begin on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Charlie Quintana, Isaac Cordova, Estevan Sanchez, Enrique Trujillo, Leonard Quintana and Dennis Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers named are, Dr. James Sanchez, Carlos Trujillo, Devin and Jordan Bolich, Miquela Vigil, Diana Quintana, Larry and Roy Lopez, Mike and Denise Benavidez, and Loretta Valerio. The family of Dennis Trujillo has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
