Dennis Garcia

DENNIS M. GARCIA , 53, a resident of Chimayo, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021. Dennis entered this world on January 1, 1968, born to Gilbert and Grace Garcia. He was the fifth sibling out of seven of the Garcia family. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Garcia; brothers, Calvin “Polo”, Gilberto, Jr., Ernie Garcia and his lovely sister, Gina Jaramillo. Dennis attended and graduated from Española Valley High School, after graduation he worked construction throughout his life. Dennis loved going for wood with his brothers, fishing, hunting, and taking care of his mother, Grace Garcia. He was his mother’s right hand and raised his nephews (Andres and Santiago) as his own children. Dennis was caring and was always willing to help anyone in need. He had a passion for art and would love to draw lowriders and santos on his free time. Dennis will always be remembered for his personality, laughter and loving spirit for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all his family, friends and loved ones.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his loving mother, Grace Garcia; special nephews that he raised as his own, Santiago and Andres Garcia; brothers, Steven Garcia (Roberta), Horacio Garcia (Cassie); brother-in-law, Marvyn Jaramillo; close nieces and nephews, Miranda Gordon (Tony), Steven Garcia, Jr. (Christina), Jose Garcia, Anthony Garcia (Danielle), Nicholas Garcia, Shyann Garcia, Ernesto Garcia, Justyce Jaramillo, Calvin Jaramillo, Mark Garcia and Juan Carlos Garcia as well as numerous great-nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish in Chimayo with a burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Steven Garcia, Jr., Anthony Gordon, Nicholas Garcia, Ernesto Garcia, Dickie Baca, Chris Martinez, Jr., and Delbert Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers named are, Steven Garcia, Sr., Horacio Garcia, Santiago Garcia, Andres Garcia and Calvin Jaramillo. The family of Dennis M. Garcia has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
