Della Romero

DELLA M. ROMERO, 66, a resident of Medanales, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Lucero; favorite uncles, Mike Archuleta and Ben Benavidez, aunt, Delia Archuleta. Della enjoyed being around her family. She enjoyed gardening and enjoyed road trips and going out whether it was just for lunch or for a visit. Everyone that met her was delighted with her company. She was a very joyful person. She enjoyed starting her morning with getting up and having a cup of coffee. Della is survived by her husband of 34 years, Luis Romero; son, Alfonso Wood; brother, Ramon Lucero, sister, Annabelle Quintana, brother, Max Lucero and son Max Lucero Jr.; nieces and nephews, Denise and daughter Nisa Ortiz, Carlos Lucero and (Maxine), Joaquin Lucero, Mark Quintana (Tessa), Andrea Lucero, Nicole Lucero, Conrad Lucero; special friend, Ruth Velasquez and family, Martha Bencomo and Alberto and Azucena Dominguez; special cousins, Mary Romero and family Archuleta’s from Denver and many other family and friends. The family would like to say thank you to Amber Care and their staff. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Della M. Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
