Delia Lopez

Delia Lopez, 89, a resident of Chamisal, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teodoro Lopez Sr.; son, Teddy Lopez and parents, Jose and Maria Casados. Delia was nicknamed one of the Golden Girls. She enjoyed bingo, as well as gardening and cooking. Her faith was extremely important. Praying the rosary always brought her peace. Delia is survived by her children, Barbara Martinez (Gabriel), Patrick Lopez (Elizabeth), Terry Lopez (Ananias), Fred Lopez (Rachel), and Roy Lopez (Sofia); grandchildren, Albert Martinez, Michael, Teddy, Nick, Tim, Jude, Joey, Jolene, Kimberly, Pamela, Erica, Heather, Hannah, Estrella and Lilly; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lugarda Sandoval and Jose Casados; special niece and nephew she helped raise, Casey Casados and Christine Lopez and a niece she was very fond of, Lorraine Archuleta. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñasco with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Chamisal Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren.
