David "Davey" Jr. Age - 36 - Velard Gasca

David “Davey” Gasca Jr., 36, a resident of Velarde passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012. David loved Alicia and their boys with all of his heart; he truly lived each day for them. David took great pride in coaching his sons’ basketball teams, he always wanted to be outdoors, camping, hunting, riding the ATV’s and taking Alicia on rides on their Harley. David was a Hermano with the Lyden Morada, he did this whole heartedly and was a man of his faith. He was preceded in death by his father, David Gasca Sr.; grandparents: Adolfo, Alvinita, Ermelinda and Mary Gasca, Jose Ignacio and Carlota Montoya; G.G. Ma and G.G. Pa Robinson; step-dad, Valentino Martinez; cousins: Yvonne Gasca, Jason Lopez and Robert Montoya. David is survived by his wife, Alicia Gasca; four sons: Jason, Lorenzo, Marcos and Jeremiah Gasca; mother, Angie Martinez; in –laws: Alice and Adrian Trujillo and Bob Rodriguez; sisters: Ernestine Martinez (Modesto), Erma Sena (Harold), Shirley Sena (Tomas); brothers: Ronald Gasca (Maybel) and Ernesto Gasca; grandparents, Fidel and Alice Naranjo; sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Demetrios Padilla; godchildren: Jade Rivas-Padilla, Estrella Padilla, Santana Sena, Zach and Joshua Martinez and Leilani Salazar; godparents, Charlie and Yolanda Gasca; also considered a son, Rudy Aragonez; numerous other loving relatives & friends. David had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved dearly. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde with burial to follow at Velarde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Reuben Salazar, Demetrios Padilla Sr., Zach and Bubba Martinez, Jeff Lyon, Cipie Maez; honorary pallbearers: his son’s, godchildren, Heather “Feather” Martinez and Adrian Martinez.
