David (Davee) Lyon

David (Davee) A. Lyon , 53, born July 8, 1967, from Santa Clara Pueblo went to join his parents and his son in Heaven on December 14, 2020. He was preceded in death by his son, Derrick Marshall Lyon; his parents, Robert “Bob” and Marie Lyon, and his recently deceased relatives, his aunts, Judy Dasheno and Viola Baca; Jason Gutierrez and Joseph Salazar who were like brothers to him, and many other beloved relatives. He is survived by his daughters, Shanaya Aquino and Tamryn Lyon; the mother of his daughters, Reyanne Chavarria; his siblings, Valarie (Loren) Vigil, Stephanie (Wilbert) Salazar, Jeffrey Lyon (Renee), his nieces and nephews, Raechele (Nicolas) Lyon, Jaelynn Lyon, Taylor Vigil, Skylar (Benjamin) Roybal, JP Lyon, Zachary Salazar, Marcus Salazar, and great-nieces and nephews, Emyli, Isabelle, Jacob, Jack and Derek Lyon and Aria Wooten, and his niece/goddaughter, Kristyn Salazar and godson, Daylan Martinez. He is also survived by many relatives, whom he loved dearly. He spent his career as a Hotshot firefighter through the Forest Service and was often deployed across the country fighting wildfires in many states. He was known for his love of hunting, fishing, sports especially his love for the Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears. He lit up the room with his smile, laughter, and jokes and had an unmeasurable love for his family. Dave’s funeral mass was held at the Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. The Lyon family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, food, and support in so many heartfelt ways. A special thanks to the Santa Clara Pueblo Emergency Management Team and all family and friends who helped in search and rescue efforts. Dave is our angel that lived, laughed and loved to the fullest. As our beloved brother would always say to his family and friends as he would be leaving . . .  “It’s time to Boogie”.
