David Trujillo

David Joe “La Zorra” Trujillo age 47, a resident of Chimayo passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 following a short illness. David was preceded in death by his son, David Trujillo, Jr.; grandparents, Tomas and Maria Silva who helped raise him; aunt who was like a sister, Mary Helen Silva; father-in-law, Paul Medina; sister-in-law, Tammie Medina; uncle, Tommy Medina; grandmother, Susie “Nana” Duran; his cat, Patches. He loved playing basketball, loved his low riders, watching his Denver Broncos, and was a diehard Española Valley Sundevil fan. David loved hunting, fishing, camping, and just being outdoors. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his wife, Paula Medina; daughter, Miranda Trujillo (Eric Bustos); parents, Dora and Leland Martinez; mother-in-law Annabelle Medina; nephew who was like a son, Jesse War; God-son, Damian Gallegos; brothers, Lonnie Trujillo (Audrey), Leland Martinez, Jr. all of Chimayo and Eugene Trujillo of Truchas; aunts who were like sisters, Liza Silva, Porfie Romero both of Denver, Colorado, Elsie Silva of Española, Gloria Silva of Chimayo; uncles who were like brothers, Tommy “Corn” Silva, Jr. (Michelle) of Espanola, Elmer Silva (Lori) of Espanola; very close primo, Felipito Duran of Albuquerque; best friends, Mike “Showtime” Gallegos, Mark “Panties Down” Vigil, Jimmy “Harley” Herrera; close friend/brother, Daniel Garcia; dogs, Riley, “Shorty”, Sheba; his cat, Jasmine and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery.
