DAVID KEITH SANCHEZ, 46, went to meet our Lord Jesus on August 13, 2016 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Elaine Sanchez; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Louisa Martinez, paternal grandparents, Teofilo “Chito” and Helen Sanchez. Due to David’s blindness he was limited in what he was able to do but he always loved to be with family and friends and loved to fish and camp. He was passionate about music and was a part of the jazz band at NNMC. David was a graduate of Northern New Mexico College where he earned a degree in Environmental Science and was last employed by the Pueblo of Pojoaque. He loved and respected the traditional and native ways and in years past danced in the Pueblo of Pojoaque yearly feast in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. David was a kind and loving person and he shared that with everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed by many. Thank you Loretta for being such a great mother to him and all our children. He leaves behind his daughter, Mariah, sons, Charles, Michael Lyle and Jericho Cannon; grandchildren, Ciara, Amina and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and Godchildren; father, Teofilo “Chito” Sanchez and friend, Geri; step-mother, Loretta Sanchez; sisters, Darlene and Reyecita, and brother, Phillip. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Burial will be held at a later date.
