David Earl Montoya

David Montoya, a resident of Vadito, NM, was born on March 24, 1967, was abruptly taken away from his family on the morning of Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the age of 57. 

He was a very caring and loving man. He was respectful and was always trying to take care of those he loved, especially his dearest mother Helen (Amadita) Romero. 

David was preceded in death by his father Adonais Montoya, siblings Bobby Montoya, Jaylene Montoya, Ray Montoya and many more family members.

David is survived by his mother Helen Romero, his brothers Robert Montoya and Victor Romero (Kenny), sisters Lori Garcia (Enrique) and Juanita Montoya (Russell Lopez), nieces and nephews Bethany Lopez, Russell Lopez Jr., Rodolfo Garcia, Jaylene Garcia, Estrella Garcia, Antonio Garcia (Emily) and Emma Garcia, great-niece Darla Garcia and Severiana Archuleta (Juan), and many cousins and family members.

David was a happy playful spirit who loved to joke around and he enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and watching Godzilla movies and having laugh’s with family and friends. He was a firefighter for the forest service for many years. He enjoyed fishing, picking pinion, attending to his animals and hanging out with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and his absence with be felt by many who knew him. 

A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Nuestra Senora de Los Dolores Catholic Church in Vadito, NM, with Mass to follow at 11:00 am.  Burial will take place after mass at the Vadito Cemetery in Vadito, NM.
