David Gallegos

DAVID F. GALLEGOS, 91, a resident of El Rancho originally from Antonito Colorado, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016. David was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Consuelo Gallegos; parents, David and Cleotilde Gallegos and 7 special sisters. David was known by his family as being family oriented and loved his family dearly. David was a 1943 graduate of McCurdy and always attended every year’s homecoming festivities and an avid fan of all high school sports in Northern New Mexico. He was a retired teacher and taught in the Northern New Mexico area. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Arroyo Seco. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. David is survived by his daughter, Donna Gonzalez and husband George of La Mesilla, sons, Arnold Gallegos and wife Abigail of Hoehne CO, Raul Gallegos and wife Mary of Santa Fe, Albert Gallegos and companion Lucy of Albuquerque, Dennis Gallegos and wife DJ of Tularosa; brother, Alvaro Gallegos of Ferndale WA. Public Visitation will begin on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers Steve, Carl, David and Elijah Gallegos, Nathan and George Gonzalez, honorary pallbearers Denise DePaula, Albee Gallegos, Matt Schulte, Andrea Gallegos.
