Darrell “Dobbs” Tafoya, 62, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father; Jose Daniel Tafoya Sr., mother, Billie Rose Tafoya, brothers; Claude Tafoya Sr., Lincoln Tafoya Sr., and Allison Tafoya, and a niece Linette Tafoya. Darrell loved being with family treasured his 9 grandchildren, participate in pueblo ceremonies, enjoyed fishing, watching old western movies, and was a Dallas cowboys fan. Darrell is survived by his wife Virginia Tafoya, grandchildren he raised as his own, Andrew Dobbs Tafoya, Marquette Tafoya, BriAnn Tafoya and Silas Tafoya, sons; Darrell Tafoya Jr., and companion Denise Gutierrez, Nate Tafoya; daughter, Rechanda Tafoya and companion Ivan Archuleta, grandchildren, Danica, Mallory, Izaiah, Kailynn and Ivoree, sisters; Rose Tafoya and companion Jonathan Tsoodle, Phyllis and husband Marlin Hemlock, brothers; Jose Dan Tafoya Jr., and wife Emily, Matthew Tafoya of Lawton OK, Phillip Tafoya and wife Codi, and many nieces, nephews, aunts cousins and many friends. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at the family home in Santa Clara, with a mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Santa Clara, with a burial to follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Claude Tafoya Jr., Kevin Tafoya, Jessie Hemlock, Wydell Hemlock, Marlin Hemlock, Kyle Tsoodle, Adam Martinez, and Lincoln Tafoya Jr. The family of Darrell Tafoya has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
