Danny Boggs

Mr. Danny L. Boggs, 78, of El Duende, NM, passed away on October 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Dan was born in Pound, Virginia to Anna Sue and Ernest Boggs on April 19,1946. He went to school in Pound, Virginia where he graduated high school and then went on to study at Michigan State University. On January 7, 1995, he married Mary Boggs in Corrales, NM. He was a veteran and served in the Air Force for 22 Years as a Master Sergeant. Dan was Awarded Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Organizational Excellent Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Oversees Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon and NCO Professional Military Educational Ribbon. 

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Anna Sue and Ernest Boggs; mother-in-law and father-in-law Leandro and Juanita Padilla; brother Johnny Ray Boggs; and brother-in-law Rosendo Padilla.

Dan is survived by his spouse Mary Boggs (Mary Tonie Padilla) of Hernandez, NM; his daughters Teresa Boggs and Janice Boggs and their families from Flint, Michigan; his stepdaughters Karen (Johhny) Salazar from Los Alamos, NM, and Krystal (Robert) Rodriguez from Albuquerque, NM; his step-grandchildren Jeremy Salazar, Joshua Salazar, Nico Rodriguez, Juliette Salazar, Jessy Salazar, Elena Rodriguez and Anna Salazar and a great step-grandchild, Dakota Salazar. He is also survived by his Godchildren Dennis Padilla and Vanessa Padilla; brothers Larry Boggs, Gerry Boggs, Steve Boggs, Chris Boggs and sister Debbie Large; brothers-in-law JR (Eva) Padilla, Dennis Padilla, Ted (Antoniette) Padilla; sisters-in-law Betty (Joe) Romero, Mary (Armando) Garcia, Lucy (Johnny) Garcia, and Darlene (Pablo) Martinez.

A Visitation Service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 6:30 PM at De Vargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. On Friday, October 25, 2024, a visitation will be held at 11:30 AM at De Vargas Funeral Home with interment to follow at 1:30 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Padilla, Vanessa Padilla, Juliette Salazar, Jessy Salazar, Elena Rodriguez and Anna Salazar.
