Danny Jaramillo, 56, a resident of Arroyo Seco passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. Danny was a United States Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Danny leaves us with a legacy of strength, hope and love. He gave for the sake of giving and his kindness lives on in the hearts of those he has touched. He always wanted the world to be a better place because he was in it, and it truly is. He was preceded in death by his father, Furgencio Jaramillo; maternal grandparents, Felix and Magdalena Griego; paternal grandparents, Ignacio and Martina Jaramillo. Danny is survived by his wife, Laurel Rapaport of Arroyo Seco; son, Robert Jaramillo of Albuquerque; mother, Dora Jaramillo of Española; sister, Geneva Jaramillo-Marquez of Española; brothers: Melvin R. Jaramillo, Damian Mendez and wife Monica, all of Española; aunts: Phylis Trujillo and husband Rubel of Albuquerque, Amelia Lopez and husband Merced of Española, Jean Martinez and husband Sy of Española, Celsa Maestas of Española, Locadia Jaramillo of Española; uncles; Joe O. Griego of Española, John Griego of Española and Felix Griego Jr. of Santa Fe; in-laws, Rusty and Louise Rapaport of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law: Janna Rapaport of Santa Fe, Lisa Rapaport of North Carolina; special nieces: Randi Marquez, Adrianne Castillo and husband Jose; special nephew, Daniel Jaramillo; special angel, Corrine Castillo; many special and loving friends. Devotional Service will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española with burial on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers:Melvin R. Jaramillo, Damian Mendez, Lou Abbott, Leroy Esquibel, Daniel Jaramillo, Herson Montoya.
