Daniel Gonzales

DANIEL (DANNY) T. GONZALES, 50 a resident of Rodarte, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Gonzales Sr.; brothers, Leroy L. Gonzales Jr. and Gabriel Gonzales; grandparents, Richard and Libradita Gonzales, and Ben and Fabiola Dominguez; uncles, Jacob and Jimmy King and Daniel Dominguez. Danny graduated from Peñasco High School, worked at Samon’s Electric in Santa Fe, and at Los Alamos National Laboratory, before leaving to Las Vegas, NV to pursue his culinary passion. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, and worked as a Chef at several casinos in Las Vegas, NV and the Las Vegas Nevada Race Track.  Danny was a kind hearted, warm and funny guy.  He loved to cook and feed everyone; and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.  He had an infectious laugh and smile that will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him. Mr. Gonzales is survived by his son, Johnathan Gonzales of Rio Lucio; daughter, Amber Kris Martinez (Matthew) of Rio Lucio; grandchildren, Bentley and Riley Martinez of Rio Lucio; mother, Dorothy K. Gonzales of Rodarte; sisters Dannette Gonzales of  Rodarte, Loretta Lopez (Abe) of La Mesilla, and Albenita Gonzales of Amarillo TX; mother of his children, LouAnn Cordova of Rio Lucio; God-children, Erica Montano of Houston, TX and  Jennifer James of Amarillo, TX; nieces and nephews,  Michael Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales (Sheryl), Karen Tucker (Dustin), Jennifer James (Jordan), Danielle Gonzales, Gabrielle Gonzales, Erica Montano (Matthew), Kimberly Lopez, and Lynette Lopez; 20 great-nieces and nephews; uncles and aunts,  Anna Marie Duran (Frank), Richard Gonzales (JoAnn), Jesus Gonzales, Johnny King, Susie King, Lucy King, Ben Dominguez (Margie), Marlyn Dominguez (Dan), MaryLou Carlson, David Dominguez (Carmen) and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at the St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. The following serving as pallbearers, Johnathan Gonzales, Matthew Martinez, Michael Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Zachary Saiz, Abe Lopez, Xavier Griego and Allen Dominguez.  Honorary pallbearers will be, Bentley Martinez, Riley Martinez, Lynette Lopez, Orlinda Romero, Johnny King, and Ben Dominguez. The family of Daniel Gonzales has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
