Daniel Pete Padilla, age 54, a resident of El Llano, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2015. He was born on May 19, 1961. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Gilberto Padilla; paternal grandparents, Donaciano and Emma Padilla; maternal grandparents, Estanislado and Octavianita L. Naranjo; special cousins, Chris Archuleta and Tony Salazar; aunt, Rumalda Martinez; aunts, Emiteria Salazar and Ramoncita Vigil; father-in-law and special friend, Filimon Martinez. Daniel was an insulator for LANL for several years, he loved fishing, hunting, and helping others. Daniel always had a great sense of humor always found a way to make you laugh and had a very giving heart. Daniel loved visiting his family, always taking them gifts and flowers. Life will not be the same without seeing or hearing his voice. Daniel is survived by his mother, Minnie Martinez of El Llano; daughters, Amy and Andrea Padilla of Chimayo; ex-wife, Liz Padilla of Chimayo; special to his heart his only granddaughter, Brianna “Annanana”; son-in-law, Gabriel Archuleta; brother, Julian Martinez, sisters, Lupe Duran and husband Joe, and Eva Martinez; uncle, Melisendro Naranjo, as well as many other loving family and friends. Daniel will be greatly missed by many. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a Funeral mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Reception meal will be held at Knights of Columbus in Arroyo Seco following the mass. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Espanola Christian Center. Private burial will be held.
